Well
whom am I?
I used to live in
the Netherlands in a small town (Axel , population :12.000 in Zeeuwsch
Vlaanderen, the Netherlands) which is a 2 hour drive to Amsterdam, a 4 hour
drive to Paris. It is close to the Belgium border, so it is a mix of living in
the Netherlands and in Belgium, which is a nice mix of cultures.
Since 1993 I am married
with Eveline (sorry her home page is in Dutch). She runs a blog
to keep track of
our adventures in Kuwait and Alberta. On October 28th 1999 our son (Ivo) was
born. December 2001 our daughter Vera was born. They both have web pages, see
top of page.
Star
Trek
For years and years
I do have a 'mild' addiction, which is Star Trek. I now have my son brain
washed sufficiently because he is asking to watch Star Trek together. This gives
me a chance to watch the Enterprise series which I did not see yet. My son Ivo
is now also addicted, so we watch together. Real Quality time.
Work
I used to work at
the Dow Chemical Company Terneuzen site. I had several different jobs from
process engineer, improvement engineer, run plant engineer, safety leader,
improvement leader and Operations Leader for a future plant to be built in
Oman.
In September 2007 we moved
from Holland to Kuwait City, to start another adventure. As a Dow Chemical
secondee to Equate I worked for Equate Petrochemicals. The job was to
commissioning and start up a large chemical complex. With large I mean really

After Kuwait Summer 2010 we moved to Alberta in Western Canada. Dow Canada has a site north east of Edmonton in Fort Saskatchewan. I think I am entitle to say
that I have been working and living in Hot climate and in very cold climates,
in Muslim countries and in Christian countries. A true international experience.
